Scenic Escape on the Hudson

Stretching 900 feet into the Hudson River, this pier gives you breathtaking views of the water and the New Jersey shoreline beyond. You'll find it at the end of Christopher Street in the charming West Village, forming a key part of the larger Hudson River Park system.

In 2003, the pier got a complete makeover during the Hudson River Park development. Now it features a spacious, well-maintained lawn area - lovingly nicknamed the "green beach" - where you can spread out a blanket, catch some rays, or enjoy a leisurely picnic.

The wide promenade offers plenty of seating and distinctive shade structures for those sunny days. There's something deeply calming about hearing the water splash against the concrete walls below as you relax along the metal railings.

The pier offers some of the most stunning sunsets over the Hudson with the New Jersey skyline creating a magnificent backdrop.

The pier maintains an approachable, laid-back vibe that makes it ideal for socializing. It's also dog-friendly, so your four-legged friends can enjoy the open space alongside you.

You can find public restrooms on site, and the pier is accessible around the clock. Though physically transformed from its earlier days, Pier 45 remains an important landmark in LGBTQ+ history while continuing to be a gathering place for all.
