History and Establishment

Fairview Lions Park is a 5.2-acre neighborhood park located in the Fairview community of Anchorage, Alaska. Established in 1985 on the site of the former S & S Apartments, this park has become an integral part of the local community.

Playground and Features

The park features a nature-themed playground that was installed in 2013, replacing older equipment to improve safety and enjoyment for children. A prominent feature of Fairview Lions Park is its community garden, which serves as a focal point for neighborhood gatherings and fosters stronger relationships among residents.

Fairview Lions Park offers a mix of recreational amenities suitable for various activities. The park includes open green spaces that can be used for casual sports or relaxation. Additionally, it provides on-street parking for visitors arriving by car.

Park Improvements

The park has undergone several improvements over the years. In 1992 and 1993, trees were planted using funds from a state forestry grant, enhancing the park's natural beauty.

In 2007, as part of a Challenge Grant project, volunteers expanded the community pavilion, planted new trees and perennials, and refurbished the volleyball court and multi-use field.
