Since 2015, volunteers from Rilke Schule have been actively involved in park improvements. Their efforts, supported by the Abbott Loop Community Council, aim to enhance the park's functionality and appeal.

Proposed improvements include creating a sheltered gathering space, adding parking facilities to accommodate increased usage, and ensuring safe pathways for residents and students to access nearby schools.
