Park Overview

Situated in Anchorage's Central Park district, Meadow Street Park spans a cozy 2 acres of urban greenspace. This compact green space joined the city's park collection in 1968, acquired through Heritage Land Bank lands and water quality bonds.

Natural Features

Walk through the park and you'll find yourself surrounded by patches of woodland that bring a breath of nature into the city landscape. The open water areas create peaceful, reflective spots that add to the park's tranquil charm.

The trails winding throughout are great for a morning jog or an afternoon stroll - nothing fancy, just simple paths that let you soak in the natural surroundings at your own pace.

Location and Accessibility

The park is situated in a mixed-use area among industrial, commercial, and residential zones, making it accessible from various parts of the city. You'll find it close to two schools: Polaris K-12 and Rilke Schule German School of Arts & Sciences.

Community Involvement

Since 2015, the park has been getting some extra love from volunteers at Rilke Schule. With support from the Abbott Loop Community Council, these dedicated folks have been working to make the park even better for everyone.

Looking ahead, there are plans to create a sheltered gathering area, add some much-needed parking, and ensure safe pathways connect residents and students to nearby schools.

At its heart, Meadow Street Park represents a natural retreat within Anchorage's urban fabric - a modest but valuable space for both recreation and connecting with nature. Nothing extravagant, just a pleasant green space that fulfills its purpose in the community.
