Unique Setting

Paseo Vista Recreation Area is a unique recreational facility built atop a former city landfill. This 80-acre park, located along the Paseo Trail and Consolidated Canal, offers a variety of outdoor activities and amenities for visitors of all ages.

The park's landscape features undulating landforms created by importing significant quantities of soil, with slopes covered in boulders encased in wire for erosion control, decomposed granite, wildflowers, and other plants. This design has transformed what was once considered a neighborhood detraction into a popular community asset.

Archery Range

One of the standout features of Paseo Vista Recreation Area is its archery range. The facility includes 25 lanes extending to 90 meters, 5 lanes to 60 meters, and 4 lanes to 30 meters, all equipped with fixed target bales.

The range also provides ample outdoor classroom space for instruction.

Disc Golf Course

For disc golf enthusiasts, the park offers a recreational level disc golf course laid out over the park's varied terrain. The course includes both beginner and intermediate level tee pads, providing options for players of different skill levels.

Playgrounds

Families with children will appreciate the park's playground areas. The playgrounds feature unique elements such as walls made from recycled tires, a double-decker structure, and various climbing apparatus including a "jail," slides, a tractor, a giant web climbing structure, and a rock wall.

Dog owners can make use of the park's multi-cell dog park areas, allowing pets to exercise and socialize in a designated space.

For those seeking a peaceful stroll or a more vigorous walk, Paseo Vista Recreation Area provides over a mile of walking trails. These paths offer scenic views and connect to the city-wide Paseo Trail system.
