Lehi Sports Park
About Lehi Sports Park
A Fresh New Sports Haven
Lehi Sports Park opened in Mesa in January 2023, offering 24 acres of athletic space. This modern complex features five multi-sport fields that, while primarily used for soccer matches, welcome all sorts of sports enthusiasts.
Unlike many contemporary facilities that have embraced artificial turf, these fields feature good old-fashioned natural grass - meant for those 11v11 soccer matches where players want to feel the real thing beneath their feet. Yes, it requires more maintenance, but many players appreciate the authentic playing experience.
The Fields: What to Expect
The fields are thoughtfully laid out in a north-south orientation, which helps avoid that dreaded sun-in-your-eyes situation throughout the day. Safety-conscious design includes large nets behind the outside goals - a simple but effective way to keep errant balls from flying into the parking lot or beyond.
The grounds are well-kept and have earned thumbs-up from both athletes and spectators. Just a heads-up though: since the park is relatively new, the trees haven't quite reached their shade-providing potential yet - something you'll notice during Arizona's warmer months.
Tech & Lighting
One of the park's most practical features is its LED lighting fixtures spread throughout the complex. These energy-efficient lights allow for evening play, which can be a welcome relief from Arizona's daytime heat.
Tech enthusiasts will appreciate the MuscoVision camera system on Field 1. This cool addition streams games live through a web app, so friends and family who can't make it in person can still catch all the action. Even better, it records matches for later viewing - excellent for analyzing your game or reliving those victory moments.
The Practical Stuff
You can find clean restrooms conveniently placed throughout the complex - always a plus at any sporting venue. There's a dedicated parking lot serving all five fields, however it tends to fill quickly during tournaments and busy game days.
Note that parking can be a bit tight relative to how many fields there are. Pay attention to the signage too - some spots that look like legitimate parking spaces might actually be no-parking zones.
Community Roots
What makes Lehi Sports Park special is how it came together with input from local residents. The City of Mesa acquired the property in stages, beginning with an initial purchase in 2002 and adding more acreage in 2019.
The park welcomes visitors daily from 7AM to 10PM, giving early birds and night owls alike plenty of time to enjoy this community asset throughout the day and evening.
