Mountain View Park
About Mountain View Park
Park Features
Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, Mountain View Park spans 30 acres of public recreational space with a wide variety of amenities. As the name suggests, you'll be treated to lovely views of distant mountains while you explore all this park has to offer.
One of the park's highlights is its connection to the Greenway trail system, perfect if you're looking to extend your walk or bike ride beyond the park boundaries.
Recreation Facilities
Sports enthusiasts will feel right at home here. The park offers various athletic facilities including basketball courts (complete with those challenging double rims), tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and baseball/softball fields and soccer fields. If you're organizing a friendly match or just shooting hoops solo, these versatile spaces accommodate all skill levels.
If you have kids in tow, the large playground area is a must-visit. The play equipment sits under protective sun sails to provide shade from Arizona's sunshine. Little ones can enjoy slides, swings, and climbing structures with separate sections for different age groups. The mulch ground covering adds an extra layer of safety for those inevitable tumbles.
Fitness buffs might appreciate the 12-station exercise course that winds through the grounds. The walking and biking paths that meander throughout the park are particularly pleasant during cooler morning and evening hours - a fantastic way to get your steps in while enjoying some fresh air.
Community Amenities
At the heart of Mountain View Park stands a substantial 12,000 square foot community center equipped with activity rooms and a kitchen. During the year, this space transforms to host various community programs and events.
The park provides a green space in the community with its shady trees and large grassy areas good for picnic blankets and frisbee games. You'll come across picnic tables and barbecue grills conveniently positioned near the playground - well-suited for making a day of your visit without having to pack up and move around.
Public restrooms located near the playground are kept clean and accessible. And no need to feed a meter - parking is free on-site, making your visit that much easier.
Additional Information
Good news for dog owners: The park is dog-friendly, however there isn't a dedicated off-leash area. Many regular visitors enjoy walking their four-legged friends along the trails.
Situated right next to Cochise Elementary School, Mountain View Park makes for an easy after-school destination. Just a heads-up that weekends tend to draw crowds, especially with cyclists and walkers taking advantage of the pleasant trail system.
