About the Location

Park Overview

Covering 26 acres in the heart of Surprise, Arizona, Surprise Community Park offers plenty of space for outdoor activities and community gatherings.

At the center sits a 5-acre urban fishing lake stocked with catfish, trout, bass, sunfish, and white amur. Just remember to bring your fishing license if you're 14 or older - those fish won't catch themselves!

Recreational Facilities

For those looking to stay active, the park offers several sports facilities. Shoot some hoops on four lighted basketball courts, join the pickleball craze at sixteen lighted pickleball courts, or dig your toes in the sand at two lighted sand volleyball courts. Regardless of whether you're a serious player or just looking for casual fun, there's space for everyone.

If you prefer a more leisurely pace, take a scenic stroll along the paved walking paths that meander around the lake - ideal for your morning jog or evening wind-down walk.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Kids will be begging to visit thanks to the excellent playground equipment where they can climb, slide, and make new friends. When Arizona temperatures climb (and boy, do they climb), the splash pad becomes the coolest place to be - literally. Nothing beats watching little ones giggle as they dash through spraying water on a hot day.

Picnic Areas & Gatherings

Looking to relax? Claim one of the ten ramadas scattered around the park. These shaded sanctuaries come in various sizes to fit your group, whether it's an intimate family lunch or a larger gathering. Each comes equipped with picnic tables and barbecue grills - just bring your favorite foods and enjoy dining al fresco.

Pet-Friendly Space

Your four-legged friends haven't been forgotten! The park features a thoughtfully designed fenced dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. It's an excellent place for your pup to make some canine connections while you chat with fellow dog lovers.

Nearby Attractions

The park's prime location puts you within easy reach of other community hotspots including the Surprise Aquatic Center, Surprise Stadium, and the Northwest Regional Library. This convenient clustering of recreational and educational facilities makes it easy to plan a full day of activities without traveling far.
