Freedom Park

History and Significance

Located in Tucson at 5000 E. 29th Street, Freedom Park spans 39.1 acres of community space. Opened in 1976, this park was created to celebrate the Bicentennial Year, with its name reflecting American values of freedom and liberty.

We love the origin story of its name - it actually came from the creative minds of students at nearby Myers Elementary School. Talk about giving kids a voice in their community!

Aquatic Facilities

When Arizona temperatures soar, Freedom Park's swimming pool becomes the place to be. At 25 yards long and 60 feet wide, this pool accommodates swimmers of all levels with depths ranging from a gentle 2.5 feet at the steps to a challenging 10 feet in the deep end.

Got little ones? There's a separate wading pool just for them. And don't miss the Freedom Park Splash Pad - a local favorite that runs from April 1 through October 31, daily from 8 am until sunset. You'll appreciate that the splash pad offers shade coverage - a thoughtful touch when the Arizona sun is doing its thing.
