Loma Verde Park

Modern Recreation Facility

Loma Verde Park underwent a significant renovation and expansion project that was completed in December 2023. This $22 million design-build project transformed the existing outdated facility into a modern 25,800 square foot Recreation and Aquatic Center.

The design was developed through community engagement, incorporating feedback from local residents, the City's Parks and Recreation Department, and facility staff members. This collaborative approach ensured that the park's amenities and features aligned with the community's needs and preferences.

Aquatic Amenities

The park now features two pools: an Olympic-size competition swimming pool suitable for swimming, diving, and water polo meets, and a therapy/teaching pool for swimming lessons and senior swims. Additionally, there is a sprayground for children to enjoy water play activities.

The aquatic center includes a deck area and bleachers for event viewing, making it suitable for hosting competitions and community events.

Indoor Facilities

Inside the community center, visitors can find a multipurpose gymnasium, dance rooms, a crafts room, a fitness room, and a game room. The facility also includes staff offices, lifeguard changing and break rooms, and changing rooms for visitors.

Outdoor Features

Outside the main building, the park offers exterior workout areas and a playground for children. The project incorporated accessibility upgrades, including improved parking and drop-off areas, as well as enhanced site and building access.

Loma Verde Park serves as a hub for recreation, wellness, and diverse aquatic programming in the Chula Vista community. Its modern facilities and range of amenities make it an attractive destination for residents of all ages seeking fitness, leisure, and community activities.
