Mountain View Park

Park History

Mountain View Park, located in Escondido, California, is an 11-acre recreational area that serves the eastern part of the city. Prior to its development as a park, the site was an income-producing avocado and orange grove. The City of Escondido purchased the land in May 1985 to provide a recreational space for the growing community in the area.

Recreational Facilities

The park offers a variety of outdoor activities and facilities for visitors of all ages. It features large grassy areas suitable for picnics and casual sports, as well as more structured recreational spaces.

Mountain View Park includes baseball and softball diamonds, making it a popular destination for local sports teams and enthusiasts.

Fitness Opportunities

For fitness-minded visitors, Mountain View Park boasts a National Fitness Court, which opened in November 2020. This outdoor bodyweight circuit training system provides a full-body workout and is designed to accommodate people of all ability levels.

The Fitness Court includes seven functional fitness zones that can be used in thousands of different ways.

Families with children will appreciate the playground areas, which cater to both younger and older kids. The play structures include unique features such as suspended bridges, multiple slides (including cork-screw slides), and tunnels, offering engaging play experiences for children.
