Park Overview
Dunnell Nature Park and Education Center is a 6.2-acre nature park located on the corner of Hilborn Road and Hillridge Drive in the Rolling Hills subdivision of Fairfield, California. The park was left to the City of Fairfield in 1998 by the Dunnell family and was developed based on a comprehensive plan approved by the City Council in 2004.
Natural Features
The interactive nature park features a variety of natural environments for visitors to explore. These include woodlands, a grassland restoration area, and a seasonal creek that runs through the property.
The park is adjacent to 770 acres of City-owned and managed open space properties, further extending the natural environment available for exploration.

A demonstration garden serves as an educational resource for conservation and local flora. The park incorporates conservation-themed bilingual interpretive displays throughout, enhancing the educational experience for visitors of diverse backgrounds.
Wildlife and History
One of the unique features of Dunnell Nature Park is its role as a home for peacocks, continuing the legacy of the property's former name, "Peacock Ranch".
