Emery Park
About Emery Park
Natural Charm
Located in Fullerton, California, Emery Park spans 8.2 acres of green tranquility that's been serving the neighborhood since 1980. This modest urban retreat might not be the biggest park around, but it offers a genuine escape from the daily hustle.
Winding through the park is a shaded pathway that's well-suited for your morning walk or an afternoon stroll. The abundant trees create a natural canopy, making even summer days bearable - mornings here are particularly magical when the light filters through the leaves.
A Haven for Birds and Bird-Watchers
Look up as you walk! Many of the trees host custom-built birdhouses that have become home to local bluebirds. If you're patient and observant, you might catch a glimpse of these colorful residents flitting between branches.
One of the park's distinctive features is its large wash area - a natural depression that adds character to the landscape. This wash extends southward, passing through a tunnel beneath the street and continuing as a sidewalk that meanders between nearby condominiums.
Places to Play and Relax
The park recently got an upgrade with a brand new playground replacing the old wooden equipment that had served generations of local kids. The modern play area sits on a bed of woodchips and is surrounded by several seating spots where you can relax while keeping an eye on the little ones.
Dog owners, rejoice! The park welcomes your four-legged friends, making it an ideal spot for daily walks along the paved paths. Around the grounds, you'll come across multiple picnic areas for outdoor meals, however keep in mind some structures may be undergoing maintenance during your visit.
Inclusive Design
Accessibility has been improved with the addition of an ADA-compliant walkway from Sunny Ridge Drive, ensuring the park can be enjoyed by everyone in the community.
Do note that there are no public restrooms or bike racks available at Emery Park, so plan accordingly before your visit.
Community Treasure
What Emery Park lacks in spectacular views or elaborate facilities, it makes up for in its role as a neighborhood sanctuary. This green space offers a nice break from urban life in Fullerton. Open daily from 7AM to 9PM, it offers plenty of time to connect with nature and fellow community members in a peaceful setting.
