Pacific Park
About Pacific Park
What to Expect
Situated in South Glendale, Pacific Park is that local retreat where locals gather, kids play, and community happens. Covering 5.30 acres, this park-community center combo is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., convenient for early morning joggers or evening basketball enthusiasts.
The community center has been open since September 2003, with activities for those looking to learn, play, or connect with neighbors.
Inside Spaces
Step inside the community center and you'll discover a multi-purpose gymnasium that buzzes with activity throughout the week. There's also a computer lab for those digital needs, an arts and science room where creativity flows, and a cozy game room for friendly competition.
Need a space for your next gathering? The center's meeting rooms and conference room can accommodate anywhere from intimate groups of eight to large events with up to 700 people. These spaces work well for company meetings, classes, birthday celebrations, or educational workshops.
One of the nicest features has to be the veranda with its built-in grill. You can rent this covered outdoor space for special occasions, making it ideal for those birthday barbecues where indoor-outdoor flow is essential.
Outdoor Fun
The park features a little league ball field and multi-purpose field where impromptu soccer games often take place on weekends. There's also a versatile multi-purpose court that sees action from dawn till dusk.
Families particularly appreciate the thoughtfully designed children's playground, which is split into two areas for different age groups. The rubber flooring is a smart touch - no more scraped knees or muddy shoes to worry about.
Bringing your entire extended family? The group picnic area makes for a great gathering spot where multiple generations can enjoy some outdoor time together.
For the pickleball enthusiasts (and there are many these days!), Pacific Park boasts seven courts in total - four indoor and three outdoor. Complete with permanent lines and portable nets, these courts are ready for casual games or more competitive matches.
Water Features
A notable feature of Pacific Park is the Pacific Community Pool. Open year-round, it offers lap swimming, lessons, and hosts competitive team practices throughout the year. The swimming lessons are well-suited for kids just getting comfortable in the water.
On those scorching California days, the splash pad adjacent to the playground becomes the most popular spot in the park. It's free to use and provides a way to cool off without the full commitment of pool time. Plus, its location next to the rubber-floored playground means less mud or puddles - a detail parents may appreciate.
Community Involvement
If you're looking to stay active and meet neighbors, check out the Activity Card program. It gives you access to drop-in activities like basketball, volleyball, pickleball, soccer, and youth dodgeball.
The pricing structure is pretty accessible too - free for youth, $25.00 annually for adults (18+), and just $10.00 per year for seniors (60+).
Getting There
The park offers free parking near the baseball field, with a short walk to all the facilities. This is convenient whether you're bringing sports equipment, picnic supplies, or small children.
