About the Location

Park Overview

Mason Regional Park is a sprawling 345-acre recreational area located in southern Irvine, California. The park, which opened its first phase in 1973, is named after William R. Mason, who served as president of the Irvine Company from 1966 until his death in 1973 and was instrumental in the land donation for this park.

Distinct Sections

The park is divided into two distinct sections by Culver Drive. The eastern side features a 123-acre wilderness area with rugged terrain, including hills and a small creek. This section offers visitors a chance to explore nature through its hiking and biking trails.

The western side of the park is more developed and typical of a traditional park setting, featuring large open grassy areas and an artificial lake.
