Sports Facilities

The park features multiple sports fields and courts to accommodate different activities. It includes baseball fields, softball fields (both lit and unlit), soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball courts with clean sand.

A skate park is also available for skateboarding enthusiasts, though some visitors note it is relatively small. The basketball courts, while popular, may occasionally need maintenance as some hoops have been reported to have issues.

Aquatics Update

For aquatic activities, the park previously housed a swimming pool. However, as of August 2023, the City Council made the decision to permanently close the existing pool facility due to mechanical and structural issues.

Plans are underway to redesign and reconstruct a new aquatics facility at the same location, though the project is temporarily on hold pending funding identification. Many local residents have expressed that they miss having access to the pool.

Playground Areas

The park features two separate playground areas with equipment for different age groups. One area is designed for younger children (ages 3-5), while the other accommodates older children (ages 5-12).

Both playground areas have the benefit of shade coverings to protect children from direct sunlight. The play areas include swings for both younger and older children, slides, and other standard playground equipment set on padded mats surrounded by sand.

Recreational Amenities

California Oaks Sports Park offers amenities for more leisurely activities. It includes well-maintained open grass areas, picnic tables, park benches, and barbecue facilities. Several visitors have praised the groundskeepers for maintaining the fields in excellent condition.

The park is dotted with mature trees, providing ample shade throughout the grounds. There's a covered shelter with picnic tables, perfect for family gatherings or taking a break from activities.

Restroom Facilities

The park provides restroom facilities for visitors, though cleanliness can vary. During special events or maintenance periods, portable toilets may be available as an alternative.

Community Events

The park hosts various community events, including the city's annual founding day celebration, fireworks display, car shows, and various sports tournaments. With its spacious grounds and ample parking, it's a popular location for larger community gatherings.

California Oaks Sports Park is a 20-acre recreational facility that functions as a hub for various sports activities and community events in the area. The park is open daily from 7AM to 8PM, making it accessible for both morning exercise and evening recreation.
