Desert Sands Park is a 20-acre public recreational area located on the southwest corner of Avenue P-8 and 3rd Street East in Palmdale, California. Established in 1991, this park has been serving the community for over three decades.
Recent Renovations
In 2024, the park underwent significant renovations, particularly to its playground area. The new Desert Sands Playground, funded through Measure AV, features state-of-the-art equipment designed to cater to different age groups.
The playground includes sections for children aged 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, offering a variety of play structures such as sensory wave seat sliders, agility pods, climbing elements, spinners, slides, and a sky run zip track. An innovative obstacle course has also been added, enhancing the park's appeal to children and families.
