The park features large grassy areas that provide ample space for various activities and games. For sports enthusiasts, Blackbird Park includes a 300-foot baseball field equipped with team dugouts, bullpens, bleachers, and a scoring table.
Families with children will appreciate the two separate playgrounds at Blackbird Park. One playground is designed for younger children, while the other caters to older kids, ensuring age-appropriate play areas for all.
Dog Parks
Dog owners will appreciate the two dedicated dog parks within Blackbird Park. There is a half-acre area for small dogs and a larger 1.6-acre space for bigger breeds, allowing pets to play and socialize off-leash in a safe environment.
Community Garden
The park also caters to gardening enthusiasts with its community garden. This area contains approximately 58 standard plots and 4 ADA-accessible plots, along with a common area, compost bins, a storage shed with community tools, and two tables.
Amenities and Accessibility
Accessibility is a key feature of Blackbird Park, with a wheelchair-accessible path winding through the grounds. The park also offers a large parking lot, making it convenient for visitors arriving by car.
While the 9.93-acre community park is well-maintained, it currently lacks mature shade trees, which can make it quite warm during hot weather. Visitors should note that there are no restroom facilities available on-site.
