Tom Minor Park
About Tom Minor Park
Park Overview
Located in the northern part of San Bernardino, Tom Minor Park offers a little touch of green tranquility for the local community. This public space has that laid-back, neighborhood feel that makes it ideal for a casual afternoon outdoors. Nothing fancy here - just a quiet, family-friendly spot where you can take a breather from city life.
Location and Setting
Nestled among residential streets, this park provides some welcome open green spaces for relaxing or getting active. The walking paths weave through the grounds, well-suited for a leisurely stroll or a quick workout lap while enjoying some fresh air.
You can find it's super convenient if you live nearby, however parking is somewhat limited as it's primarily designed to serve the surrounding neighborhood. It's very much a local's park rather than a destination spot.
Amenities and Activities
The splash pad is definitely a highlight here - when the temperatures climb, it becomes a fantastic spot for kids to cool off and have some water fun. Nothing beats the sound of children laughing as they dash through the sprinklers on a warm day.
There's a covered gazebo area with four picnic tables that makes a great spot for small family gatherings or casual meet-ups. Underneath this shelter, you'll also find a cement ping pong table - just remember to bring your own paddles and balls!
The park offers generous open grassy areas where kids can run wild, and dog owners can take their furry friends for a walk. Just keep in mind there's no fence between the park and the streets, so you'll want to keep a close eye on both children and pets.
Playground and Facilities
Younger children have their own playground area, however it's worth mentioning that the equipment has seen better days and shows some wear and tear.
A heads-up before you visit: there are no public restrooms available, so plan accordingly. Also, shade is pretty limited outside the gazebo, so don't forget your hat and sunscreen if you're visiting on a sunny day.
With minimal lighting across the grounds, this is definitely more of a daytime destination. As evening approaches, the park gets quite dark, making morning and afternoon visits your best bet for enjoying all it has to offer.
