Riverview Park
About Riverview Park
Play & Sports Spaces
Nestled near the intersection of 21st Street and Alona Street in Santa Ana, Riverview Park spreads across a generous 8.76 acres, offering a little something for everyone in the community.
Sports lovers will appreciate the basketball courts and ball diamond fields that come alive after sunset thanks to good lighting. Whether you're organizing a serious game or just shooting hoops with friends, these facilities are available for use. There's a main basketball court near the facilities area, plus several baseball and softball fields including a larger baseball arena complete with a food stand for when those hunger pangs strike during the seventh-inning stretch.
Kid Zone
Got little ones with energy to burn? The park features a large playground area designed specifically for children of all ages. It's a clean, well-kept space where kids can climb, slide, and make new friends while parents catch a breather. The playground makes for an excellent spot for family outings or as a backdrop for those memorable birthday celebrations.
Get Moving
If you're looking to get your steps in, the park's hiking and exercise trail provides a fantastic path for walking, jogging, or simply enjoying some fresh air. The trail connects to the nearby riverbed and you can even make your way to Edna Park if you're feeling particularly adventurous. Need space for a game of frisbee or soccer? The multi-purpose field offers plenty of open grassland for whatever activity suits your mood.
Practical Details
Riverview Park doesn't skimp on the necessities. You'll discover drinking fountains scattered throughout, and parking is a breeze with two large lots offering a total of 48 stalls. The park is essentially divided into two sections: access the Restroom/Basketball area from 21st Street or head to the Baseball/River Trail side from 19th Street.
When nature calls, you can use one of the four individual restrooms (though keep in mind that typically only two are open on weekdays). Planning a picnic? Grab one of the five or six picnic tables located in the rear area - fantastic for gatherings with family and friends.
The setting is made even more pleasant by the quiet river storm channel and adjacent golf course. Just note that there are some standard park rules in place: no alcohol, no smoking, and pets need to stay on leashes - though overall, the park is pretty dog-friendly.
You can enjoy Riverview Park daily from 8AM to 10PM, although be aware that some sections might close up shop a bit earlier.
