Thanks to a $2.1 million grant from the California Park Development & Community Revitalization Program, the space has been redesigned to be more inclusive and versatile, welcoming visitors regardless of age or ability.

What was once a parking area between the park and the Veterans Memorial Community Center has been transformed into an event plaza, creating a versatile space for community gatherings and commemorative ceremonies.

The redesigned area fronting the Veterans Memorial Community Center now showcases a patriotic theme with flags, banners, artwork, and memorials. It's a space that honors veterans while educating visitors about military service and sacrifice.
