Park Overview

Located in Santa Rosa, California, Finley Community Park spans a generous 12.21 acres along West College Avenue. This green oasis, named after Ernest L. and Ruth W. Finley, came to life in June 1990 thanks to a generous donation from the Finley Foundation that made the park, community center, and aquatic complex possible.

The park strikes a great balance between natural and developed spaces. With its grassy areas and network of paved trails, you can choose between a game of frisbee or a leisurely afternoon stroll depending on your mood.

Recreational Facilities

The park offers options for both sports enthusiasts and those looking to try something new. The park features basketball courts and tennis courts for those classic favorites, plus some less common offerings like horseshoe pits and sand volleyball courts.

The park includes an Aquatic Complex with a semi-heated outdoor lap pool. The pool area is thoughtfully designed with accessibility features for people with mobility challenges. The water aerobics classes are enjoyable - the instructors create a fun workout atmosphere.

In recent years, the park has become something of a hotspot for pickleball players. Both permanent and temporary courts host open play sessions where newcomers are warmly welcomed, and you might even catch a tournament if your timing is right.

While parking is plentiful, spaces can fill up during peak times or special events, so arriving early is sometimes a smart move.
