About the Location
Sports Facilities
At the heart of this park, you'll come across some impressive sports options with two lighted and fenced baseball fields plus two lighted soccer fields. These spaces work well for both organized leagues and impromptu family games.
The baseball fields are well-maintained, with Field 1 accommodating 90-foot bases and spacious dimensions. On weekends, you'll often spot families cheering from the sidelines as local little league teams face off.
Family-Friendly Amenities
Kids have plenty to explore at the playground area, which thoughtfully separates equipment for different age groups. Little ones under 5 have their own space, while older kids up to about 5th-6th grade can tackle more challenging structures. The monkey bars and swings are always popular, and there's even a unique concrete table area that's become an unexpected hit for children playing with toy cars and trucks.
Hungry after all that play? The park offers several picnic areas with tables, plus a large covered picnic shelter that's meant for gatherings. With multiple tables and three massive community grills under the shelter, it's an ideal spot for birthday parties or weekend cookouts.
You'll also find open grassy areas for frisbee, catch, or just lounging - though the grass quality does vary with the seasons.
Lake and Walking Paths
One of the park's best features is its proximity to a scenic lake that adds a tranquil backdrop to your visit. The paved walking trails that wind around the water make for a peaceful stroll or energizing jog, with plenty of ducks, birds, and trees to enjoy along the way.
Dog owners particularly appreciate these paths, which provide a calm setting for walking their four-legged friends away from the playground hustle.
Visitor Information
When nature calls, you'll discover clean restroom facilities attached to the park district building - a detail that makes longer visits much more comfortable.
Parking is available in several areas, however spaces can disappear quickly during peak times or events. Just know that the separate lots on either side of the park don't connect directly - you might need to exit onto the main roads to reach different sections of the park.
The park welcomes visitors from 12 AM to 10 PM daily.
