The skate and bike section of Wardlaw Park, which opened in April 2006, spans 6,900 square feet and boasts a hybrid design. It incorporates a multi-lobed concrete bowl and a slab area equipped with modular features. This design resulted from a collaborative process involving five public meetings over two years, during which skaters and BMX riders contributed to the planning. The park accommodates users of different skill levels, with designated areas for beginners and intermediates to minimize conflicts and promote a welcoming environment for learning and progression.

The dog park section of Wardlaw Park is thoughtfully designed with two separately fenced areas. There's a smaller enclosure for elderly and shy dogs, and a larger fenced area for more active dogs that enjoy romping and socializing. The park includes shared watering and washing facilities for dogs, with a drainage system that undergoes multiple treatments before entering the storm drain system.

Wardlaw Park also offers amenities for general park-goers, including multiple picnic areas distributed around the site. The park features a restroom facility, a bridge connecting to the Blue Rock Springs Corridor, and a parking lot for visitors' convenience.

It's worth noting that the park operates 24/7, providing flexible access for enthusiasts to pursue their activities at any time. However, the dog park section is closed for maintenance every Wednesday from 6 AM to 2 PM.
