About the Location
Historic Origins
Cutler Park was established in 1919 when John Cutler Jr. donated the heavily wooded parcel to Tulare County. It was named in honor of the donor's father, John Cutler, an 1852 pioneer of Tulare County who was a prominent farmer and one of the county's first judges.
Natural Features
Spanning 70 acres, this park is one of the largest Valley Oak Woodlands in Central California. The park features diverse natural scenery, including many oak trees and the Saint John's River which flows through the property.
This riparian environment provides habitat for wildlife and makes the park a popular spot for activities like birding and nature photography.
Recreational Offerings
The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and activities for visitors. It contains picnic areas with tables and arbors available for reservation, as well as playgrounds for children.
A disc golf course was established in 2021, adding another recreational option for park-goers.
