About the Location
Current Construction Status
Danny Kendrick Park East is located along Ralston Creek in central Arvada, Colorado. The park is undergoing significant changes as part of the City's sanitary sewer line replacement project. The existing playground was demolished in the spring of 2024 to accommodate this infrastructure work.
Future Improvements
A new playground is planned to be constructed northwest of the previous location once the sewer line project is completed. The City anticipates that construction on the new playground will begin in the spring of 2025.
The redesigned playground will incorporate feedback from a community survey conducted in the summer of 2023.
Trail Access
The park serves as a connection point for the Ralston Creek Trail, which runs along its perimeter. During the sewer line construction, a section of this trail has been detoured south along W. 70th Ave.
The park's location near Ralston Creek provides a natural setting for visitors, though caution is advised as some edges of the creek can be steep.
Available Amenities
While the playground is currently unavailable due to ongoing construction, the park still offers open space and access to the Ralston Creek Trail system. This makes it a part of Arvada's larger network of parks and trails.
