Secrest Park

Park Overview

Located in Arvada at 6820 W 66th Ave, Secrest Park stretches across 11.1 acres of community-friendly space. This neighborhood park has a variety of features, whether you're looking to play, relax, or just enjoy some fresh air close to home.

Play for All: An Inclusive Playground

A highlight of Secrest Park is its well-designed playground. It's not just any play area - it's actually been recognized as a National Demonstration Site for inclusivity. What does that mean? Essentially, kids of all abilities can play together here, thanks to accessible ramps throughout and rubber surfacing that's gentle for little ones just finding their feet.

The playground goes beyond the basics with engaging sensory panels and interactive games that stimulate developing minds. Perhaps the coolest feature is the inclusive merry-go-round that accommodates wheelchairs - because no child should miss out on the simple joy of spinning until you're dizzy!

Get Your Game On: Sports Areas

If you're more into sports than playground equipment, Secrest offers several options. Shoot some hoops at the basketball courts or lace up for some action at the inline hockey rink. Hockey fans will appreciate the large Colorado Avalanche logo adorning the rink - a nice local touch that adds character to the space.

Beyond the Basics

The Secrest Recreation Center sits right next to the park, offering indoor options when the weather doesn't cooperate. While technically separate from the park, it's convenient having these additional facilities just steps away.

Of course, sometimes you just need some open space to toss a frisbee or spread out a picnic blanket. The park's green areas provide plenty of room for impromptu games or just lounging on the grass with a good book.

With its mix of specialized equipment and traditional park features, Secrest Park welcomes neighbors of all ages and abilities.
