About Lookout Park and Pool
Temporary Closure Information
Located in Centennial, Colorado, Lookout Park and Pool is a seasonal outdoor swimming facility that's currently closed. The pool falls under the care of the Trails Park and Recreation District (they recently changed their name from Arapahoe Park and Recreation District) and sits within the larger Lookout Park.
As we navigate through 2024, you should know that Lookout Park and Pool is closed for renovations. After 22 years of summer splashes and community memories, a fall 2023 audit revealed it was time for some significant upgrades to address the aging infrastructure.
Renovation Plans
Given the substantial investment needed for a facility that's been in operation for over two decades, the Trails Park and Recreation District decided to close the pool for the 2024 season.
There's good news on the horizon, though! As of March 2024, plans for a NEW Lookout Pool have been announced, with hopes to welcome swimmers back as early as possible in 2026. It seems the district is hard at work reimagining this cherished aquatic space.

Previous Amenities
Before its temporary closure, Lookout Pool was a summer highlight for many local families. Typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, it offered a refreshing escape from Colorado's summer heat.
The facility had a heated swimming pool with comfortable water temperatures, along with plenty of lawn seating where you could spread out a towel and enjoy the sun. One of its charms was that it rarely felt overcrowded, making for a relaxed swimming experience whether you were doing laps or just floating around.
Park Features
Lookout Park itself has more to offer than just the pool. If you're in the mood for an outdoor meal, you'll discover picnic areas and a shelter that's great for gathering with friends or family.
The park also rewards visitors with some pretty scenic views, and features incline stairs that not only provide a good workout but also lead to some Instagram-worthy perspectives. And yes, there's a parking lot available so you won't have to worry about where to leave your car.
Family Experience
Historically, Lookout Park and Pool has been a go-to spot for families, especially those with kids looking to burn off some summer energy. The facility earned a reputation for its vigilant lifeguards and commitment to safety.
The grassy areas surrounding the pool made for comfortable home bases where families could set up camp for the day. That said, some visitors did mention wishing for more shade during those peak summer days when the Colorado sun really means business.
