At the heart of Sky Lake sits a thoughtfully designed plaza with tiered seatwalls and pleasant shade. In the evening, soft lighting illuminates the space, making it suitable for neighborhood gatherings. The playground features rolling turf hills, a zipline that's popular with kids, net climbers, spinners, classic swings, and a hill slide built into the natural landscape. The zipline is somewhat unique compared to other parks in the area.

Nature's Touch

Sky Lake embraces Thornton's "Naturally Thornton" initiative with patches of native grasses and vegetation throughout. This approach helps conserve water by using low-water landscapes in less-used areas while maintaining green spaces in the more frequently used sections.

Art in the Park

Look up and you'll spot "Periodic Reflection," an intriguing 5-foot by 6-foot cube made of mirror-plated aluminum perched on an 8-foot metal pole. This art installation creates an interesting visual element in the park.
