Great River Park

Great River Park is a scenic urban park located along the Connecticut River in East Hartford, Connecticut. Stretching nearly two miles along the river's eastern bank, the park offers visitors picturesque views of both the river and the Hartford skyline across the water.

The park features paved and lighted walkways that wind along the riverfront, allowing visitors to stroll, jog, or bike while enjoying the natural surroundings. A 350-seat amphitheater within the park hosts various events and performances, particularly during the summer months when the "Sounds of Summer" concert series takes place.

Great River Park serves as a hub for water activities, with a public boat launch providing easy access to the Connecticut River for boating enthusiasts. The park is part of the larger Riverfront Recapture project, which aims to reconnect communities with the Connecticut River. It is linked to Hartford via the Founders Bridge Promenade, allowing pedestrians to easily travel between East Hartford and the capital city. Additionally, the park features a unique collection of outdoor sculptures, adding an artistic element to the natural landscape.
