Anniversary Park was created to celebrate George Washington University's impressive 175-year milestone, and that origin gives it a distinct purpose compared to most urban green spaces. It sits on F Street NW between 21st and 22nd Streets at the southern tip of the campus.

Originally designed as a place where students, professors, and visitors could take a moment to decompress, the park features a charming garden area that brings a touch of nature to the concrete campus environment.

More Than Just Green Space

The park carries special meaning beyond its practical uses. Look down and you might notice bricks dedicated to the class of 1996 - part of the GW Alumni Brick Program that connects past with present. Perhaps most moving is the memorial plaque and flower display honoring alumni who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 attacks, creating a quiet space for remembrance and reflection.
