About the Location
Play & Recreation Spots
Nestled adjacent to Northeast Coachman Park, this outdoor haven offers a little something for everyone. No matter if you're looking to break a sweat or simply enjoy some fresh air, the facilities here are well-maintained.
The park has two tennis courts and a basketball half-court that are both lighted for evening play - convenient for those after-work games or summer nights when the Florida heat finally breaks. There's also a racquetball area if you're up for something a bit more fast-paced and challenging.
Trails & Natural Beauty
One of our favorite features has to be the paved walking trail that winds through the park. It's ideal for a contemplative morning stroll or getting those steps in without having to dodge traffic. The park's scenic boardwalk with its charming bridges offers a peaceful journey over a seasonal creek - a little slice of nature right in Clearwater.
What's particularly cool is that Coachman Ridge connects to the Duke Energy Trail, a sprawling 22.5-mile path that links up with the popular Pinellas Trail. This makes the park an excellent jumping-off point if you're planning a longer bike ride or walk through the greater Pinellas area.
Kid-Friendly Zones
Got little ones? The fenced-in playground area is a parent's dream, complete with a rectangular shade cover to keep those UV rays at bay. Designed for children ages 5-12, the playground features a variety of slides and climbing equipment to burn off that endless kid energy. The swing selection is impressive too, with options for babies, standard swings, and even double swings for shared fun.
The park's open green spaces provide plenty of room for impromptu games of frisbee or just lounging on a blanket with a good book. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the pathways, however you'll want to keep them leashed and away from children who might be nervous around our four-legged friends.
Practical Park Info
Just a heads up - the amenities here are pretty basic. There's only one picnic table near the playground, and most benches are clustered around the play area. Worth noting: there are no public restrooms on the grounds, so plan accordingly.
With its compact layout and shaded parking, Coachman Ridge Park makes for an easy stop whether you're taking a break from work or seeking a quiet neighborhood spot for some outdoor time. It's not the biggest park around, but what it offers is quality over quantity.
