About the Location

Natural Setting

Once a horse farm, this 30.4-acre natural area is now returning to forest through natural succession, offering visitors a peaceful retreat within the city. Large hardwood trees line the forest along the picturesque Beville Heights Creek, while seepage wetlands on the slopes above the creek support lush growths of ferns and colorful wildflowers.

This variety of habitats provides excellent opportunities for wildlife observation and bird watching throughout the seasons.

Park Amenities

A half-mile long, pet-friendly hiking trail winds through the park's diverse landscapes. At the center of the park is a playground and a covered picnic area, making it an ideal spot for families to enjoy outdoor activities.

The park also includes a tennis court for sports enthusiasts. To accommodate visitors, there are picnic tables and a portable toilet at the trailhead, as well as a bike rack for cyclists who wish to park and explore the nature trail on foot.

Memorial Garden

The Judy Broward Survivors of Suicide Memory Garden is a unique feature within Cofrin Nature Park. This special garden is designed to be a place of comfort, meditation, and healing for those who have lost loved ones to suicide.
