Park Overview

Located along Florida's Atlantic coast, Hollywood North Beach Park spans 56 acres of beachfront. Broward County acquired this park back in 1988, giving visitors access to 1.1 miles of public beach.

You'll come across this coastal retreat right where A1A meets Sheridan Street, offering stunning views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. If you're looking to escape the typical South Florida beach crowds, this spot offers a more peaceful vibe while still providing coastal beauty.

Beach Access and Facilities

The beach here features fine white sand and typically calm waters that are good for swimming. One thing that makes this place especially convenient is how close the parking areas are to the beach access points.

There are showers available for rinsing off after your beach day, however they're somewhat limited in number. Clean public restrooms can be found around the park, mainly near the parking areas and main entrances.

Natural Features

On the ocean side, the sandy beach invites you to lounge or take a dip in the Atlantic. The park also includes several pocket parks along the Intracoastal Waterway, offering additional green spaces and spots where fishing enthusiasts can cast a line.

For a truly spectacular view, climb the 60-foot observation tower for panoramic vistas that capture both the ocean and waterway.

Environmental Significance

More than just a pretty beach, this park plays an important ecological role, particularly as a nesting ground for sea turtles. During nesting season, don't be surprised to see sections of beach cordoned off - it's all to protect these magnificent creatures and their nests.

The park offers interesting educational exhibits about sea turtles and local marine life. If you're into underwater exploration, there's an artificial reef just offshore with a simple snorkel trail you can access right from the beach.

Amenities and Recreation

When hunger strikes, the Turtle Café offers beachside refreshments to keep you fueled for your day of fun.

Across the park, you'll discover plenty of shaded picnic tables and BBQ grills, particularly in areas sheltered by swaying palm trees and lush vegetation. These spots are well-suited for family gatherings or just enjoying a meal with an ocean view.

If you're feeling active, check out the volleyball courts for a friendly game. The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk connects to the southern end of the park, giving you miles of paved path for walking, jogging, cycling, or rollerblading along the coastline.

Parking and Access

You can park on either the beach side or the Intracoastal side of the park. Expect to pay $10 per day, though there's a reduced rate of $6 if you arrive after 2 PM. Your parking fee includes in-and-out privileges all day, so you can come and go as you please.

The park welcomes visitors daily from 8 AM to 7:30 PM, meant for early birds wanting to catch the sunrise or those looking to enjoy the spectacular Florida sunset.
