Nestled in Miami Gardens, Walt Frazier Park is not only green space but also a tribute to a local legend. Formerly known as Miami Carol City Park, it was rechristened in 2023 to honor Walt Frazier, an educator and football coach whose influence shaped the community for over thirty years.

Frazier wasn't just any coach. At Miami Carol City Senior High School, he built a football dynasty, clinching three state championships. But ask locals, and they'll tell you his real victory was in mentoring countless young people, his dedication to youth development becoming as much his legacy as any trophy.

Where Champions Play

The football field has long been central to the park, hosting everything from casual weekend games to organized Little League competitions. Good news for sports enthusiasts: the Orange Bowl Committee is pouring $2.3 million into renovating this popular field. When completed in 2025, it will proudly bear the name "Orange Bowl Field at Walt Frazier Park" - part of their Legacy Gift program that breathes new life into South Florida's recreational spaces.

Beyond football, you'll find well-maintained baseball fields and basketball courts that buzz with activity throughout the week, catering to the neighborhood's diverse athletic interests.
