Community Legacy

Walt Frazier Park, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, is a community park that honors local educator and football coach Walt Frazier. The park, formerly known as Miami Carol City Park, was renamed in 2023 to recognize Frazier's significant contributions to the community over more than three decades.

The park's namesake, Walt Frazier, was a legendary figure in South Florida football. As the head coach at Miami Carol City Senior High School, he led the team to three state championship titles. Frazier's impact extended beyond his coaching achievements, as he was known for his dedication to youth development and community service in Miami Gardens.

Recreational Facilities

The park features a football field that has been a centerpiece of community activities for years, particularly for youth sports and Little League teams. In 2025, the Orange Bowl Committee initiated a $2.3 million renovation project to upgrade the field, which will be renamed "Orange Bowl Field at Walt Frazier Park" upon completion.

This renovation is part of the Orange Bowl's Legacy Gift program, aimed at improving recreational facilities in South Florida.
