Tucked between 21st and 22nd Streets lies Collins Park, a 5.7-acre green sanctuary that dates back to the 1920s. This wasn't just any park - it was part of John Collins' grand vision for Miami Beach. Today, it stands as a cultural heartbeat for the surrounding neighborhood, blending history with contemporary vibes.

Under the Shade of Centuries

When Miami's sun gets serious, Collins Park offers a refreshing retreat. The grounds are dotted with mature trees that cast generous shadows across the pathways. Among these leafy giants are remarkable baobab trees and some impressive specimens believed to be over 400 years old - basically tree elders who've seen it all. The landscape strikes a nice balance between native Florida plants and decorative varieties.

The well-maintained lawns are excellent for spreading out a picnic blanket or enjoying a good book. It's one of those rare urban spaces where the grounds actually stay clean and well-kept year-round.

The park borders several significant artistic institutions. On its eastern edge sits the Bass Museum of Art, showcasing contemporary works. Right nearby, you can find the Miami City Ballet and the Miami Beach Regional Library - creating a concentrated area of cultural institutions.

Looking for a community workout? Free yoga classes happen Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6pm - an excellent way to unwind after work. And with the beach just a block away, you can easily combine park relaxation with ocean adventures.
