About the Location
Recreational Facilities
Tucked away in Miami's urban landscape, Little River Park spreads across 9 acres of well-kept grounds. It's one of those spots where you can take a breath and disconnect from city life for a while. The park staff keeps everything in good condition and are generally helpful.
Swimming Pool
When Miami's heat gets intense, the park's swimming pool offers welcome relief. Open during summer months, it's a wonderful spot to cool off and splash around. Don't worry about safety - lifeguards are always on duty, keeping an eye on swimmers young and old. We've found it's a great way to spend a hot afternoon when the temperature starts climbing into those uncomfortable digits.
Sports Amenities
If you're more of an active type, you'll appreciate the baseball field and basketball court. Regardless of whether you're shooting hoops with friends or catching a Sunday baseball game (they happen throughout the day), there's plenty to keep you moving.
Kids haven't been forgotten either - the playground offers a safe space for the little ones to burn off energy while parents can relax nearby. It's typically filled with local families, especially during weekends.
Natural Environment
The walking paths winding through green spaces make Little River Park a peaceful retreat. You can jog, take a leisurely stroll, or simply find a quiet spot to sit and read. The lush greenery provides a natural sound barrier from the city noise - something we find particularly valuable in a busy place like Miami.
Picnic Areas
Scattered across the park are several picnic spots meant for outdoor meals or small gatherings. While these areas serve their purpose well, they can get crowded during weekends and holidays, so arriving early is a good strategy if you're planning a picnic.
Facilities
The park includes a clean, well-maintained recreation room for community activities. Restrooms are available, but access might be limited during certain hours. There are water fountains too, but they occasionally have maintenance issues - might be worth bringing your own water bottle just in case.
Pet Policy
Note that Little River Park only permits service dogs on the grounds. While this might disappoint some pet owners, it helps maintain the cleanliness of the park.
Park Hours
You can visit Little River Park from 7AM to 7:30PM, seven days a week.
