Tucked away in Port St. Lucie, Lyngate Park spans 16 acres of community-focused space that's been bringing locals together since 1979. Named after the surrounding Lyngate neighborhood, this park sits prettily on the north fork of the St. Lucie River Aquatic Preserve. What really makes this place tick is its role as the home base for the American Little League, where countless kids have created their first sports memories. The park is well-maintained and clean - something you'll notice as soon as you arrive.

Play Ball (And Everything Else)

If you're into sports, you'll feel right at home here. The park comes equipped with two baseball/softball fields that host the Port St. Lucie American Little League games - complete with that classic crack-of-the-bat soundtrack on game days. For tennis enthusiasts, there are two lighted tennis courts waiting for your best serve, while the basketball court with lights keeps the games going after sunset. Looking for something different? Try one of the four racquetball courts with lights or kick off your shoes for some fun at the sand volleyball court.

The playground is a kid magnet, designed for little ones between 2-12 years old. The shade structures over the play areas provide welcome relief during Florida's scorching summer days. Your kids will love the multiple slides of varying heights, climbing zones for different age groups, and inclusive equipment including a special needs-accessible swing and merry-go-round chair. And yes, it's lit up in the evenings for those post-dinner energy burns.

A Touch of Nature

Breaking up the sports facilities is a lovely pond complete with a fountain that adds a touch of tranquility to the park. If you're feeling patient, you can try your hand at fishing - just remember it's catch-and-release only, so snap a quick pic of your prize before saying goodbye.

Around the park, you'll discover generous open green spaces well-suited for impromptu frisbee games or picnic blankets. The mature shade trees scattered around become your best friends during the heat of the day, offering cool spots to catch your breath.

For the Fur Family

Dog parents, rejoice! Lyngate Park features a thoughtfully designed dog park area with three separate enclosures for small, medium, and large dogs - so your tiny Chihuahua won't have to dodge the neighborhood Great Dane. The dog-friendly touches are everywhere: water fountains at perfect pup height, readily available waste bags (no excuses!), and even obstacle courses in some sections for your four-legged athlete.

The shaded seating areas mean you can comfortably watch your dog's social hour while chatting with fellow pet lovers. It's as much a human hangout as it is a dog paradise.

Gather 'Round

Need a spot for your next family reunion or birthday celebration? The park offers two pavilion options: a spacious 36'x40' pavilion equipped with lights, electricity, water access, two grills, and eight tables for larger gatherings, and a cozier 24'x24' pavilion with four tables, one grill, lights, and electricity for more intimate get-togethers.

You'll also find all the practical necessities - clean restrooms, water fountains, and plenty of parking spaces. The park welcomes visitors daily from 7AM to 10PM, making it easy to fit into your schedule whether you're an early bird or prefer evening outings.
