Rich History

Found in the heart of downtown Tallahassee, Florida, Cascades Park spans 24 acres of urban greenspace with a story as deep as its roots. Opened in 2014, this park sits on the very ground where Tallahassee was founded back in 1821. It's not just a pretty face, though - beneath its scenic surface, the park cleverly doubles as a sophisticated stormwater management system.

Walking through Cascades is like flipping through Tallahassee's history book. The Smokey Hollow Commemoration pays tribute to a once-thriving African-American community that called this area home. Family Attractions

If you've got kids in tow (or just want to embrace your inner child), head to the Imagination Fountain. This interactive water feature has 73 jets that spray water in random patterns, creating a playful atmosphere. This popular splash pad offers welcome relief during Florida's sweltering summer months.

Nearby, the Discovery play area engages young explorers with natural materials designed to stimulate their senses and imagination. Children can enjoy climbing structures, slide down a large slide, or play in sandy spaces - all designed to blend fun with nature.

The park's Capital City Amphitheater is where Tallahassee comes alive with music and culture.
