About the Location
Trail System
The greenway features approximately 6.5 miles of trails that parallel Miccosukee Road, a historic canopy road shaded by towering oak trees. The trails consist of packed gravel and crushed stone surfaces suitable for hiking, jogging, mountain biking and horseback riding.
The terrain includes a mix of open grassy areas and forested sections, providing diverse scenery for visitors. Rolling hills add some variety and challenge to the trail system.
Natural and Historical Significance
In addition to recreational trails, the greenway preserves a slice of natural habitat and local history. The protected land includes former plantation properties and old Native American paths that were later used by Spanish explorers and American settlers.
Today, it serves as both a nature preserve and an archaeological site.

Four parking areas are available along Miccosukee Road to access different sections of the trail system. Visitors can enjoy activities like birdwatching, nature photography, and picnicking in addition to trail use.
