About the Location

Facilities & Amenities

Nestled in the heart of Old Seminole Heights in Tampa, Henry & Ola Park stretches across several acres of green space. If you're into sports, you can find plenty of options here - from soccer fields and baseball/softball fields to basketball courts that stay lit well into the evening for those post-work games.

Got little ones? The park features a nicely shaded playground area with multiple slides that toddlers especially seem to love. Looking to host a family gathering? The picnic areas come with covered tables and grills, well-suited for those weekend cookouts when the weather's just right.

You'll find restroom facilities available for when nature calls, and there's a recreation center on site that hosts community programs year-round. From Easter egg hunts to organized sports leagues, there's usually something happening to bring neighbors together.

Dog Park

The newest star attraction at Henry & Ola is undoubtedly the Henry and Ola Dog Park, which just opened in February 2024. This 10,600-square-foot enclosed space gives your four-legged friends plenty of room to run free and make new canine buddies.

The dog park comes equipped with newly-planted trees, fresh turf, benches, a picnic table, an ADA-accessible dog fountain (because dogs get thirsty too!), and dog waste stations with bag dispensers - because nobody likes to be that neighbor who doesn't clean up. The recently planted red maple trees will eventually grow up to 60 feet tall, however for now, many visitors note that more shade and seating would be welcome improvements.

Community Connection

What makes this dog park extra special is the story behind it. This wasn't just a city planning project - it was the result of a decade-long grassroots effort by local residents. The Seminole Heights Dog Pack and other neighborhood advocates pushed for years to create this canine haven.

The dog park has become a popular gathering spot for two and four-legged residents alike. Beyond dog meetups, the park has become a hub for FIT4MOM classes and weekly kickball games that take over Monday evenings with friendly competition.

Layout & Atmosphere

The thoughtful layout of Henry & Ola Park makes it easy to find your own space, whether you're looking for activity or tranquility. Parking is straightforward, with paved spots near the basketball court and dog park, plus overflow options on grass/dirt areas when things get busy.

The park is clean, quiet, and family-friendly, tucked into a pleasant residential area. It works well for lunch breaks, weekend family outings, or simply finding a peaceful spot to enjoy some fresh air.
