Hupp Park
About Hupp Park
A Green Retreat with Sporting Flair
Situated in Aurora, Hupp Park spreads across 47.2 acres of refreshing greenery. It's one of those places where you can catch your breath from the daily grind - well-suited for a leisurely stroll or simply soaking in some nature while the world rushes by elsewhere.
Skater's Paradise
At the corner of Illinois Avenue and Orchard Road, you'll come across the Hupp Skate Park - a dedicated haven for skateboarders, roller skaters, and bikers. The setup includes quarter pipes, handrails, ramps, and other features that let you work on those tricks you've been practicing.
Just a heads-up: due to insurance rules, skaters and bikers can't use the park simultaneously. The park offers plenty of ramps suitable for everyone from first-timers to seasoned pros, although you might want to bring some wax along for the rails and ledges which occasionally need a touch-up.
Pickleball Central
If you're riding the pickleball wave (and who isn't these days?), you'll love the eight dedicated outdoor courts complete with permanent lines and nets. These well-maintained courts are free to use and attract local pickleball enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Kid-Friendly Zone
The park includes a playground where little ones can burn off energy while you take a breather. It makes Hupp Park a solid choice for family outings - the kids can play while teens and adults make use of the sporting facilities.
Recent Improvements
The park has seen some thoughtful upgrades lately, including water service with backflow prevention for a water fountain, and the addition of four park benches where you can rest your legs and watch the world go by.
Note that Hupp Park doesn't have restroom facilities or designated picnic areas, so plan accordingly. Despite these minor limitations, it's a pleasant spot with a variety of recreational options.
