With approximately 500 individual plots, this community gardening space along West Street in Naperville gives residents their own little patch of earth to transform into a flourishing garden. Situated right across from Knoch Park, the location makes it a convenient spot to dig in and grow your own vegetables and flowers.

The Man Behind the Gardens

The name isn't just for show. Ron Ory was a lifelong Naperville resident whose hands were perpetually dusted with soil and whose heart beat for horticulture. Known around town as Naperville's Master Gardener, Ory dedicated years to sharing his knowledge and promoting sustainable gardening practices. These community plots honor his green-thumbed legacy.

Pick Your Plot

Looking to try your hand at gardening? Plots are available to rent seasonally, typically from May through October when the Midwest growing season is in full swing. You can choose between full-size plots (29' x 18') if you've got big gardening dreams, or half-size plots (14.5' x 18') if you're just dipping your toes into the soil.

The Naperville Park District includes raised planting beds for gardeners who might need more accessible options.

Beyond Plots

Beyond growing vegetables, it's also a learning environment. Wander through the Idea Gardens where you can gather inspiration and techniques to apply to your own plot. The site features a tree nursery and honey bee hives, enhancing its educational value.
