About the Location
Trails Worth Taking
Windy day? Need to clear your head? Becker Park offers a 0.6-mile trail that's nicely paved and mostly level. It's an easy walk for pretty much anyone, and you'll be surrounded by green space that somehow makes Peoria's city noise fade into the background. We've noticed it's quite the popular spot for pet owners - and not just for dogs! Yes, you might occasionally spot someone walking their cat on a leash here (which always makes our day).
Get Your Game On
If sitting still isn't your thing, the park's basketball courts and baseball field offer plenty of ways to work up a sweat. Whether you're shooting hoops with friends or practicing your batting skills, these well-maintained facilities are open to everyone regardless of skill level. The park also has designated areas for inline skating and skateboarding if wheels are more your style.
Skater's Corner
The skate park here isn't massive, but it packs in some solid features for practicing your tricks. You'll find banks and minis with skatelite surfaces that are pretty good for grinding. One heads-up though - the concrete is a bit rougher than at some other parks, which you'll definitely notice if you're rolling on harder wheels. Still, there's enough variety to keep both beginners and more experienced skaters engaged.
Family Zone
Got kids? The playground provides a safe space for little ones to burn off energy while you take a breather. The park has a pleasant, neighborhood feel within its 14-acre space. And yes, bring your four-legged family members too - they're welcome within the park.
Take a Break
When you need to refuel or just want to relax, head to the shelter with picnic tables. It's ideal for unpacking a lunch or gathering with friends. The Peoria Park District maintains the grounds well.
