A 0.25-mile paved walking loop is one of the highlights at Bielfeldt Park, just south of Detweiller Park. It might not challenge your marathon training, but it offers a smooth, level path that's just right for a quick lunchtime walk or an easy jog, and dog owners seem to appreciate it too.

Beyond the loop, this well-kept green space has a warm, family-friendly vibe that makes it great for anything from a peaceful picnic to a casual afternoon stroll. The peaceful setting makes it a nice spot to clear your head during a busy day.

Facilities

Kids have options here with two playground areas to choose from. There's a newer playground featuring more modern equipment, plus an old-school one built on sand (remember those?). While it's a hit with families, the play options for really little ones are somewhat limited, so keep that in mind if you're bringing toddlers along.

Sports fans haven't been forgotten - the baseball fields and soccer fields provide space for organized games or just tossing a ball around. Despite not being the largest park in Peoria County, Bielfeldt makes good use of its compact footprint, packing in a surprising variety of amenities.

You can bring your pets along too, just remember to keep them leashed. For your convenience, the park offers public restrooms (though they're only open seasonally), scattered picnic tables for those outdoor lunches, and a parking lot that makes access straightforward.
