About the Location

Park History

Established in 1973, this 7-acre urban green space functions as a recreational hub for the surrounding community. The park is situated south of Hikes Lane and west of Breckenridge Lane, in an area that was once on the edge of the old city limits.

The park's history is intertwined with local development. It was created as part of the post-World War II expansion when developers Edward Butler and Chester Cooper purchased and subdivided 45 acres of the Graff farm and part of the Hikes family's Midlane farm.

Local legend suggests that the park was named after Frank Bumann, a prospector from the Yukon who opened the park, though this claim is unverified.

Recreational Amenities

Klondike Park offers a variety of recreational facilities for visitors of all ages. The park features open green spaces suitable for casual games and relaxation, as well as more structured amenities for sports and leisure activities.

Its location within a primarily residential area makes it a convenient spot for local families and individuals seeking outdoor recreation close to home. Whether for a morning jog, an afternoon picnic, or an evening game of basketball, Klondike Park accommodates a range of activities and schedules.
