Arnold Sumpter Park is a 2.9-acre urban green space located in the Bolton Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The park serves as a central gathering place for community events and recreational activities.
Named after Arnold E. Sumpter, a beloved football, basketball, and baseball coach at Murphy Home Recreation Center, the park honors his memory and contributions to the community. Sumpter was a 23-year-old student at Morgan State University and a Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks employee when he tragically lost his life in August 1971.
