About Glacken Field
Baseball Heaven in Cambridge
Glacken Field sits nestled along Huron Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts, just a stone's throw from Fresh Pond Reservation. Following its 2021 renovation, this 2.1-acre park has transformed into a modern recreational space popular with local residents.
The heart of Glacken Field features two Little League baseball fields complete with dugouts, backstops, and a bullpen/batting cage area. Both fields boast well-maintained sod surfaces and proper fencing - though fair warning: those left field hits might disappear into the bushes! For evening games, Musco lighting illuminates the fields, extending playtime from dawn until 10:00 p.m. between April 1st and October 31st.

Playground Paradise
Got little ones? The tot lot playground area is a hit with families, featuring new play structures atop rubber surfacing for safer tumbles and falls. Kids particularly love the creative dot design on the ground - ideal for chalk art masterpieces.
Perhaps the biggest draw during summer months is the spray pad with its refreshing water features. It's enjoyable to see children having fun and cooling off when the temperature rises. The playground area includes interactive elements designed for children.

Beyond Baseball
A smooth multiuse path wraps around the entire park, making it a nice option for a casual stroll or quick exercise loop. The renovation added new plantings and trees to the location.
Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the outdoor workout stations equipped with pull-up bars and monkey bars - great for squeezing in a free workout while the kids play nearby.

Courts and Amenities
Glacken Field also offers three tennis courts and a basketball court, ensuring diverse recreational options regardless of your sporting preference.
For those extended visits, you can find a portable toilet on-site - a small but important amenity when you're spending the day enjoying all this versatile park has to offer.
