Rich History

The park dates back to 1909 when it was purchased for merely $1, thanks to contributions by Clara W. Coit, Edward W. Haines, Clark H. Gleason, and Robert H. Coit. Originally designed as part of the Coit School's playground, it evolved over the years into a public space.

The park received updates as part of the Park Schools Agreement in the 1950s, further enhancing its role in the community.

Recreational Facilities

Coit Park features facilities for both active sports and casual leisure. Its amenities include a basketball court, a ball diamond, and a playground equipped with monkey bars, providing fun and exercise for children.

During the winter months, the park offers a sledding hill that adds seasonal enjoyment for families. Additionally, visitors can enjoy picnic tables scattered throughout the park for outdoor dining or relaxation.
