Found in Lee's Summit, Miller J. Fields Park is a breath of fresh air for anyone looking to spend some quality time outdoors. Regardless of whether you're a local or just passing through, there's something here for everyone.

The walking trails wind through green spaces, meant for your morning jog or an evening stroll to clear your head. Baseball enthusiasts will appreciate the baseball fields where you can catch locals practicing their swing or cheer on a weekend game.

Kids absolutely light up at the playground area, which has been thoughtfully designed with two separate play structures - one just right for toddlers and another that keeps the older kids challenged. The playground's recent upgrade from mulch to turf means fewer splinters and softer landings when little ones take a tumble. The zipline is usually the star of the show, but the climbing rock and variety of swings (including baby swings for the tiniest visitors) give it some serious competition.

Chill Spots & Picnics

Need a moment to catch your breath? You'll find multiple picnic areas scattered throughout the park. Two reservable shelters offer plenty of shade and tables for family gatherings or birthday celebrations. If you're just looking for a quick lunch break, you'll come across single tables dotted around the park, and there's at least one grill near shelter 1 if you're in the mood for some outdoor cooking.

What's particularly nice is how the picnic areas are positioned - you can relax with your sandwich while still keeping an eye on the kids as they play. The sprawling grassy areas are great for impromptu games of frisbee, touch football, or kicking a soccer ball around.

Splash Zone

The splash pad is particularly popular on hot summer days. Kids can cool off under interactive spray elements and squeal with delight as the spill buckets dump water unexpectedly. It's especially great for younger children and toddlers who might not be ready for a full pool experience. The water typically starts flowing at 10 AM and continues until early evening - just enough time to thoroughly wear out energetic kids.
