Lillis Park
About Lillis Park
What You'll Find Here
Tucked away at the corner of 28th Street West and Yellowstone Avenue, this 11-acre green space offers a little something for everyone, whether you're looking to break a sweat or just enjoy some fresh air.
Winding through the park, you can find both paved and natural jogging trails - excellent for your morning run, a casual evening stroll, or even spotting some local wildlife if you're lucky.
Get Your Game On
If you're feeling active, there are basketball courts where you can shoot some hoops or play a pickup game with friends. The pickleball courts have become quite the hotspot recently (seems like everyone's playing these days!).
If you're serious about your pickleball, you can actually reserve the courts for a fee - handy when you've got a group ready to play or want to ensure you've got space for a friendly tournament.
Kid-Friendly Fun
Got little ones with energy to burn? The modern playground area is a hit with families. Kids particularly love racing down the oversized slide and soaring on the swings. The playground equipment is fairly new, offering safe yet challenging options that keep children of different ages entertained.
When snack time rolls around, settle in at one of the picnic sites complete with tables and benches. The mature shade trees scattered throughout make these spots especially pleasant on warm days.
The Vibe
Set within a residential neighborhood, Lillis Park has that peaceful, community feel that makes it special. The grass is well-kept, creating plenty of open space to toss a frisbee or just spread out a blanket and relax.
Parents will appreciate the walkway circling the playground - fantastic for getting some steps in while keeping an eye on the kids. If you're 7 or 70, there's something here that fits your speed.
Community Connection
Interestingly, Lillis Park participates in the Parkland Gleaning Project, which allows people to harvest fruit from public trees throughout Billings - adding a cool sustainable dimension to your visit.
Dog owners, you're welcome to bring your four-legged friends for walks along the trails. You'll likely spot plenty of local pups getting their daily exercise here.
Good to Know
The park is open daily from 5AM to 10PM. One thing to note: there aren't any public restrooms on-site, so plan accordingly for longer visits.
